just managed to get quick look at the nest before it went off again she is back and looks to be tucking into something all 4 of them. they are making a lot of noise there is hope for the old lady yet
7:50 Mon 21 Jun 10
Claire, Lady flew back on to the nest at 18-51.
I rang my Sister to see if she had seen her fly off like I did, and she had`nt. Whilst we were talking, Lady flew back onto the nest and we just could not believe. The Osprey blog is probably over loaded so my last message to it is still somewhere in the ether . Lorna

Barbara, i have wished the same some stomach bug in bird land i really have i couldn't believe it earlier i watched her sitting up and wings flapping she looked so perky? I have seen T-boy as i call him feeding the chicks a few times i just wished he would have the sense to pass her some, its quite frustrating watching isn't it i am willing him on to pass some fish to her but the chicks have to come first. Yes Jill, Mabel, is quite special! under the circumstances and she is still mothering her bairns, its beautiful, but so sad to watch with Mabel, bieng the way she is at the moment there are different generations on that nest, its quite amazing it really is if you think about it and she only met T-boy this year its took me ages to warm to him lol but i like you very much T-boy you've done our Mabel proud...Karen Stoke

I have posted on the forum twice in the last 24 hours and my messages have not appeared - have we ghosts in the machine?!!
I posted this a.m. to tell everyone that Mabel was sitting up and seemed much better, I know there are those of you who can't look at the Osprey cam for fear of being too upset, I felt the same myself, but I did look this morning and was surprised at the change, whilst still noting she is not out of the woods yet.

Lovely domestic scene of the geese sitting under the shade of a bush with dad on sentry duty just outside - standing on one leg!
I see the owls cam is back now too and looks like the chicks have all been ringed - they are huge now! Although seeing them gulp down a whole rodent at a time I'm not surprised - soon they will be showing some flight feathers and losing their baby fluff - they are very noisy!
Mabel is continuing to hang in there - sheltering the chicks from the sun with her wings - what a great lady she is, battling on even though still very ill - she hasn't eaten since Friday and still seems unable to open her eyes. They don't think she will make it if she continues not to eat but we will have to wait and see and keep the prayers going....Jill

Good Morning--Things seem to have taken a turn for the better with the Osprey sitting up-- her eyes open--dare we hope she looks a lot better i certainly hope so--could she have eaten a bad fish--I am worried she won"t make the journey back to Africa--wishing you every good wish and will keep our prayers going for you--Barbara--South Staffs

I'm not surprised the osprey cam was down for a while last night - there were over 630 blog entries on there all day yesterday from people avidly viewing the cam to watch how Mable was doing - this morning already there are 168 blog entries! There is a small ray of hope in that Mabel seems to have rallied a bit and is trying hard to sit up and preen, although her eyes are still closed and the Osprey Team fear that she might have sustained brain damage even though she appears to be functioning, probably just on pure maternal instinct. The chicks have been marvellous snuggling around her and I'm sure she feels them there and is happy that they are being fed by her terrific new mate who is doing stirling work bringing in food. We will just have to wait and see how things unfold and keep praying for her.....
Glad to see the owls back too now - they have grown so big! - Denbury looks lovely in the sunshine this morning too although I can only get Cam2 up but the Emu's look great!
Will have another look later - meanwhile back to work ...Jill

What a beautiful term of Phrase Jill Queen of the Loch i like that very much. Its nice to know her final resting place will be at the foot of the Tree with a memorial quite fitting i think, i am touched. Karen Stoke
