Well the weather has finally cooled down a bit at last and I am hoping for some rain soon as my garden desperately needs it, as I look outside my window there are very dark rain clouds in the distance so maybe not long until some wet stuff arrives, I often wonder how the wildlife copes with these hot dry spells we have, as a local wildlife rescue centre has had a number of admissions of various wildlife suffering from dehydration. Karen, yes I guess we will never know, I've never seen anything like that illness, I remember watching one Saturday evening and not realy being able to see her breathing, I honestly thought she had gone.

So pleased she made it I just hope she returns for another season next year. Bec

One Osprey chick appears to have flown out of camera shot, the other preening at the edge of the nest.Lindsay.

Well, I`ve just gone round the webcams and everywhere seems very peaceful. The osprey chicks are busy preening after their flying today and the lake at Denbury appears very quiet.
Karen Stoke. How right you are about the reflections in the water.
I can`t get a picture on the hatchery cam so I don`t know what`s happening there.
Elaine. Will Elsie look to see if the forum is being used? Pat. North Wales.

You should see the reflections on the Lake at this moment quite beautiful. Its Raining here so i am doing my ironing, watching the Cams. Just seen the Osprey, on the nest looking out yonder at the beautiful view they have. I noticed the egg that didn't hatch it looks so tiny, who would have thought such a splendid bird came out of one of those tiny eggs, its incredible how quick and big they have grown. well back to the ironing when ive picked what to watch on the cams lol tea break for me . Thanks Kate. I did see the take off and landing yesterday of the first chick but I have just watched it again on u-tube. It really made me laugh to see the chick miss the nest the first time it came in to land and Mabel ducking out of the way as it flew round for another go. She was just about to flap her wings the second time it came in to land and had to duck again but then she looked round at it as if to say `Are you okay, well done`. The second one has just flown away from the nest so I can see I`m not going to get much done today either!!!!!! Pat, North Wales

Elaine i have only just looked on the hatchery cam i just thinks its out of order at the moment thats what it looks like to me anyway?. I have just been watching the Osprey before the light goes and one of the Adults bought a fish in, quite a good catch too dont know what it was? one of the chicks ( it seems strange calling them chicks lol they are so big now) was trying to yank it of the talon the Adult looked at it as if to say hold up give me a chance.

Mary Lland it seems you've had a good day i bet it was funny you know i smiled when i read your post as it reminded me of one of the Vicar of Dibley episodes as they had an animal blessing in that lol. I spotted a couple of Badger earlier with a fox skulking round ready to take off if challenged. Karen Stoke

9pm and the osprey nest is empty, can't beleive I missed it!! I have checked the other osprey cam and I can't see any osprey there at all! Looks like they have built up their confidence and taken a leap of faith. I'm so glad the female made what looks to be a full recovery too, I wonder what made her so ill? Bec
