I logged on at about 8:15 and saw the young buzzard sat upon the post they are without a doubt one of if not one of my favourite birds of prey i find them fascinating such beautiful plumage. I think i am so in love with them as when i first saw one it was sat in a tree up the stables and as we turned up the lane it was there showing me its glorious colour, i have been in love with them ever since.

I have been shopping today and as i was collecting a dozen or so pig kidney as its cheap and they love it , for my fox a lady approached me and asked why i was buying so much kidney i told her with a smile its for my foxes she asked me to repeat what i had said and i did so she looked at me and said no you dont i said yes i do i adore them they are beautiful i have been doing so for years she looked at me and said well you want shooting i looked at her with my tongue in cheek and said i beg your pardon she said you want shooting they are vermin i laughed politely biting my tongue, she hurried on to say they are pretty little things but they are vermin. I said who are we to say whats what, at the end of the day, i know plenty of people whom i class as vermin and want shooting she tried to carry on the discussion well you all know how i feel about fox, i said look we are all entitled to our opinion but your`s sucks i bid you good day and left her standing there. lol my sister said it was so funny to watch as when she saw my tongue go in the side of my cheek she knew i was rattled but said i didn't think you would be so polite i answered yea i am proud of my self sis as i felt like attacking her lol. Each to there own i say, the lads putting the food on display giggled at her as well she thinks my fox are vermin go wash your mouth out my dear i said they looked at me as to say take no notice.
Vicky how wonderful for your mum to have seen a Badger walking around the Farm Mr Farmer will have to count his chickens and secure them up, its not a good sign really is it them venturing so close to the farm house unless they are taking there order for more butties to Mr Farmer lol. And Vicky i agree it would be virtually impossible to get a good shot of the Buzzard they see the tiniest movement and they are off as i well no i have nearly broke my neck in the past to get a photon of one but never had any luck.

Tina i hope you didn't take offence about the mention of signing the post but its nice to know who posted so we can answer you.
Its nice the forum is buzzing again lets keep it up as its a privilege to be part of this for me i love it so much.

As i say my daughter has spoken of taking me to denbury one day but she failed her driving test again Friday so i got to wait a little longer lol but i will make it its on my bucket list i assure you all. Karen Stoke

Hi Elaine i'd love to photograph the buzzard on the pole but it would probably fly off before i could get close enough for a decent photo. Vicky

sorry, should have signed my blog re the owlets hurting themselves.TINA
7:57 Fri 23 Jul 10
Last year, mainly in the night, we would watch the owlets after digesting a whole mouse fall backwardss with it feet up in the air and thought it had choked and died. It was just very, very full. Had a nap then got up as right as rain. Only to do the same a couple of days later. It got quite comical in the end and was mostly the largert owlet.
7:19 Fri 23 Jul 10
I have to say the owlets throwing themselves at the walls and the camera looks very frightening. I do hope they are not going to hurt themselves. Or am I worrying for nothing?

I emailed BOT and they said it is lying down likely because it is hot there. They also said they had at least 11 deliveries of food yesterday. I am also concerned to see it lying there. Rosie's Mum in Toronto

One of the owlets is laying on the floor flat out! It is moving it's head so is alive, but as I have never seen one laying like this I am a bit concerned. Has anyone seen this before?
Judging by what the website said they did get plenty of food last night, so lets hope it's just having a rest!

Thank you for the diary Vicky - I always check it before my daily morning rounds of the cams and know that Mr. Farmer has lots of more important things to do so its really appreciated when someone like you takes time to do one! Shame about the black swans but I hope that wherever they are, that they find somewhere nice to settle, and also that Mr. Farmer can find another mate for the lonely one here. It would be good to have a breeding pair, what gorgeous cygnets they would be! Jill

Elsie that really is good news for you hope everything goes well for you we will have our fingers crossed. Vicky thanks for the diary it is good that you can make the time while there to keep us up to date with things. Rosies mum both elaine and I are Elsies friends on facebook so you may find us I will look for you today when i go on. Karen I have not got the work finished yet I was told 3 weeks but we are into 6 now and it is driving me mad. The clerk of works hasnt even been able to come in and check it out yet to sign it back to me. The problems are silly little unfinished bits but the gang doing the work have moved on to another area and now are having to pop back for 5 minutes here and there just to comlpete little jobs that should have been done while they were here. It is so frustrating as i cant really get my things unpacked and put away yet. Overall i am really pleased with the kitchen it has given me such a lot more room. But they did one job and made twoo more. (typical workmen lol). We had quite a bit of rain again yesterday. im begining to think this st swithuns thing may have some bearing on it after all. Take care all try not to go rusty during our wonderful british summer. Didn't see much activity regarding food for the owlets. I saw the one mentioned below and one owlet was fed around 3:20 am your time and I let BOT know.
Guess Karen Stoke is still up and watching. Glad to know you will be seeing better soon Elsie. Rosie's Mum in Toronto

Elsie good news about your forthcoming surgery on you eyes i bet your pleased isn't it marvelous what they can do now, i noticed Dunnock in my garden about 5 or six year ago i love there little pinkish legs. I watched them do a courtship dance it was what made me look up what i was seeing it was beautiful to watch it really was then i watched them mate i was very lucky to do so.

Vicky lol its sods law isn't it i recon the Kingfisher is on to you ha ha and is teasing you. I do hope you get lucky though with that camera of yours, as you are just Brilliant at taking a photo you really are its just natural to you, me i am hopeless. Thank you also for doing the Diary i miss the Diaries but fully understand Mr farmer is busy so when we get one they are appreciated. What a shame the Swan has flown what a shame for the other one left behind.

Rosie's Mum i am on face book i love farm-ville so maybe you did find me its a shame i cant put my surname on here but if you have Elsie on Face book i am on her friends list, so that should narrow it down lol.
I dont like to bother Mr Farmer with Emails as i think he is busy enough to be a secretary to us really. Karen Stoke
