This image is coming to you live from the Trust's owl sanctuary on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Unlike most, this is a genuine sanctuary, "a place of peaceful retreat" where the birds are not on public display. We usually have about 35 owls (mainly Barn Owls) here: a mixture of disabled wild birds, unwanted captive-bred ones, and wild birds undergoing rehabilitation prior to release.
If you can't see an owl we do apologise! The birds are free to fly around (within large aviaries) so please come back later (!) or check out some of the images elsewhere on the website...
You can support the Trust by adopting one of the owls in our sanctuary...a great gift idea!
We are hoping to be able to live stream the view from a wild Barn Owl nestbox again in the forthcoming breeding season. Nestcam will give an intimate view inside a Barn Owl nestbox where we are hoping there will be nesting again, and Barncam will show a view of the outside of the nestbox and its surroundings so you can see the owls coming and going. For more information on our cameras, please follow the About our web cams link at the top of the page in the right hand margin
A huge amount of information on all aspects of Barn Owl conservation can be found on our website – go and explore!
