Well Mr Farmer did I enjoy your diary tonight, how I would have loved to have been there to have seen Thornton playing football. I have always had the theory that wild animals can be trained. Apparently as you said Thornton must have picked up from Tass and Ky on how to play with a ball, I saw the three goslings around teatime Liz so hopefully they are all still there. What lovely photos tonight and Anjela that bird is beautiful. Have you noticed ladies that Robin is at it again talking of food. You would think he got nothing to eat, he seems to have meat on the brain. Wonder if he grows the herbs to with it. Will go and have another look at the cams and see what is happening. Elsie

Ladies, on the photo page those wild turkeys do look strange, but they also look very tasty. The pigs lying in the sun look lovely, all those juicy pork chops just waiting to be eaten!!! Keep sending those pics, I am starving!!!! Robin.

I think the buzzard sighting was just the ranger replaying the film from the past. I happened to see him picking from past days and replaying a clip of the male fishing also. (at least I think it was the male). That was very interesting. It is cold and windy here, another day not in the garden. I hung some sheets on the clothesline and they are flapping like mad but probably will still be wet tonight. Karen, I would love to see your garden-with all the work you do there and how you love it must be beautiful. Penny

WOW! i have just nipped in from the garden as its still warm and sunny here, and i saw a close up of the Buzzard only a few seconds! but well worth it. I believe its turning again this weather so i must go and do some more, before the heaven`s open. Karen Stoke

Scary moment this morning! Hubby and I were heading off to work at about 2.50am, driving up Brockley Coombe Road towards the airport, when a beautiful Deer seemed to jump "through" the roadside hedge! I screamed, Hubby swerved and the Deer lived to see another day. It came from nowhere! As it jumped onto the road, it made a very sharp left turn - almost as though it realised it was the only way to avoid a collison. It ran a few strides alongside the Landy, then, as Hubby stopped, the Deer found its way back to wherever it had jumped from. I couldn't stop thinking what MIGHT have happened!
WHY ARE WILD ANIMALS SO STUPID!?? Why don't they realise collisions hurt!!

Oh Penny, I am sorry the poem upset you but hope it was in a nice way. I find when you read into the words they are what my Dad would have said to me. Have just seen Ewey in the field, she is laying there all content, she is a very unusual sheep isn't she. Still Denbury is not like your ordinary farm, at Denbury there is more human contact with the animals and they are treated in a different way to other farm animals. Mr Farmer is a really big softie at heart, aren't you Mr Farmer!!. Well my husband has gone to the hospital for his eye checkup, he has Wet Macular Degeneration and the threatment for it is not free on the NHS. Read in the Echo where in Co Durham they are going to get it free there in July I think it is. What a country this is now, it seems to have gone to pot in more ways than one.Sue/Eileen what is the idea of a red wooly hat. I am very curious.

Elsie thank you so much it did make me weep but I will keep this to look at when times are hard and gain some comfort from it. Take care. Just off to Dad's to do some more packing up but glad I was able to see this before I go. Thank you all for your support. Margaret - Poole

Elsie I too have shed a few tears on the computer this morning as I read that lovely poem. Robin The reason Elaine wants to know about the red wooly hat is as I mentioned before. I had a strange dream the other night but all I could remember of it was you were in it and wearing a red wooly hat. Not just a red wooly hat I hasten too add I dont have dreams like that lol. It seems a bit warmer today not quite as cloudy as yesterday. The photos were lovely again last night. I must try and get some taken but everytime I see something i want to photo it moves away before I get the camera out lol. We now have house martins in the nest again so I will try to get some pics of those and my next door neighbour has blue tits in a hole in the wall of the house where a pipe was taken out and not blocked up. My friend and I sat out in the garden the other afternoon watching them. They parents were both very busy coming and fetching food and taking it back into the hole in the wall. Sorry Elaine now my postings are turning into essays. Sue

Now I have cried all over my computer. That was such a wonderful poem, Elsie. Thank you for sharing it. Even tho my dad and I did not have a really close relationship; he was more of a 'father' instead of a 'dad', I had cared for him for the last year and we got closer than before. This is really nice. Penny

MISS ME
MISS ME BUT LET ME GO
WHEN I COME TO THE END OF THE ROAD
AND THE SUN HAS SET FOR ME
I WANT NO RITES IN A GLOOM FILLED ROOM
WHY CRY FOR A SOUL SET FREE?
MISS ME A LITTLE BUT NOT FOR LONG AND
NOT WITH YOUR HEAD BOWED LOW
REMEMBER THE LOVE THAT ONCE WE SHARED
MISS ME BUT LET ME GO.
FOR THIS A JOURNEY WE ALL MUST TAKE
AND EACH MUST GO ALONE.
IT’S ALL PART OF THE MASTER PLAN, A STEP
ON THE ROAD TO HOME.
WHEN YOU ARE LONELY AND SICK AT HEART,
GO TO THE FRIENDS WE KNOW
LAUGH AT ALL THE THINGS WE USED TO DO
MISS ME BUT LET ME GO.
